How to Work With Walter, the AI Website Builder?

Walter is Marblism's AI website builder. He builds your site, runs live experiments, and improves your results over time. No designers or developers needed.

Written by Chris Toscano

🧠 How Walter Works

Walter builds and edits your site directly from your chat. As you describe what you want, he generates a live preview so you can see every change in real time. Once you're happy with the result, you publish with one click.

Walter specializes in showcase and brochure-style sites: landing pages, portfolios, contact pages, galleries, and blogs. Everything lives inside your Marblism workspace.

🚀 Step 1: Get Walter Started

Before Walter can start building, share a bit of context so he can hit the ground running:

  1. Complete the onboarding: give Walter your brand name, industry, and tone of voice.

  2. Share your existing site URL if you have one, or let Walter know you're starting fresh.

  3. Tell Walter what you're envisioning: sections, navigation preferences, and any interactions you have in mind.

💡 The more context you give Walter upfront, the closer his first draft will be to what you actually want. Think of it like briefing a designer before they start.

✏️ Step 2: Build and Refine

Once Walter has the brief, he gets to work. From there you can:

  • Ask for changes to any section, page, or style. Walter edits in real time.

  • Share image URLs or brand assets via a public link (Google Drive, Dropbox) for Walter to use.

  • Undo any change you don't like and try a different direction.

🌐 Step 3: Publish Your Site

When you're ready, hit Publish. Your site goes live immediately at a .marblism.me address. No custom domain required to get started. You can add one later at any time from Settings > Domain.

💡 Publishing with the Publish button is always free. Only edits made through Walter's chat consume hours.

📝 Step 4: Connect Penny's Blog (Optional)

If you use Penny to write blog posts, you can connect her directly to your Walter site. Activate the "Penny Blog Post" toggle in Penny's settings or in Walter's extension tab, and Penny's posts will publish automatically to your site's blog section.

🌟 Why You'll Love Walter

  • Your site, always improving. Walter runs continuous A/B tests after launch, testing headlines, images, and buttons with real visitors to find what works best.

  • Take over your existing site. Already have a website? Walter can rebuild it inside Marblism, keeping your content and domain intact. Your original site is never touched.

  • No developers needed. Every change happens through a conversation. Walter handles the technical side so you can focus on what your site says and how it looks.

  • Works with the rest of your team. Walter connects with Penny for blog content, keeping your site fresh without any manual work.
