When a publish fails, nothing goes live and your live site stays exactly as it was. Walter doesn't retry or fix it on his own, but the message tells you what happened and what to do.
Read the message
The publish result shows Publish failed with one of these messages:
"Your website has a code error…" Click Ask Walter to fix and send the message. When he's done, publish again.
"Publishing is unavailable for now…" A temporary limit on our hosting. Publish again after the time shown, or a little later if no time is shown.
"Walter is applying a change to your website right now…" Wait for him to finish, then publish.
"Your website environment could not be prepared…" or "…could not be brought back online…" Try again in a moment.
"Your website isn't ready to publish yet…" Walter is still building your first version. Wait for his message that your site is ready.
"A publish is already running…" Nothing to do: it finishes on its own.
"Failed to publish:" followed by technical details. Click Ask Walter to fix. He reads the publish log and explains what went wrong in plain words.
