How to Unpublish or Take Your Website Offline

Step-by-step guide to removing your Marblism Walter site from being publicly accessible, including unpublishing and disconnecting a custom domain.

Written by Sam

You can take your Walter site offline at any time. Nothing is deleted: your site, design and settings stay, and you can bring it back with one click.

Unpublish your site

  1. Open Walter's chat and click the gear icon for Settings.

  2. In Domain, find Website visibility, click Unpublish website and confirm.

Your site goes offline on every address, both its .marblism.me address and your own domain, and visitors see an unavailable page. You can do this on the web once your site has been published. If a publish is running, wait for it to finish first.

Bring it back

Click Publish. Your site comes back online with your current version, including any changes made since. New Penny blog posts wait while the site is offline and go live with your next publish.

Remove your custom domain instead

To stop showing your Walter site on your own domain but keep it live at its .marblism.me address, go to Settings, then Domain, click the trash icon next to your domain (or Remove if it's still being set up), and confirm.

Your DNS records aren't changed back for you. To show your old site on that domain again, point the records back to your old host at your domain provider.
