How do I rebuild my Walter site in another workspace?

If Walter keeps getting stuck or failing when you try to build a site in a new workspace right after he was onboarded, the most likely cause is a name conflict. Here's what that means and what to do.

Each workspace has its own Walter and its own site, so nothing is copied between workspaces automatically. You can rebuild your site in another workspace in a few steps.

Rebuild your site in another workspace

  1. Check that Walter is in the new workspace. He's added when the workspace owner is on an hours plan.

  2. Start Walter's setup and choose I already have a website.

  3. Enter your current site's address and choose Make an exact copy. Your old Walter site's address works, as long as that site is online.

  4. Pick a different web address from your old site. The website name can stay the same. Setup tells you if an address is taken and suggests a free one.

Walter copies up to 20 of your main pages, matching their layout and text. Expect a few touch-ups: you can attach screenshots in the chat to show him what to match.

If the build fails

Click Try again. It's safe: nothing is lost, and it usually clears the problem. If it keeps failing, open the help chat and tell us the web address you chose.
