How to control what Stan sends and when?

Stan is designed to move fast, but you're always in the driver's seat. This article explains how sequences get triggered, how to review what Stan is planning to send, and how to make sure nothing goes out without your sign-off.

How Stan's sequences work

When you set up a sequence, Stan automatically enrolls new leads that match your filters and sends emails (and optionally LinkedIn messages) according to the steps you've defined. This happens in a daily send window, so leads added one day will start receiving emails the next time the window opens.

Reviewing a sequence before it runs

To preview exactly what a lead will receive before anything is sent:

  1. Go to the sequence in Stan's settings.

  2. Click on any email or LinkedIn step.

  3. Select "Preview with lead" to see the version Stan would send.

Use this to check tone and content before your sequence is live.

How to pause or stop a sequence

You can pause any active sequence at any time from Stan's sequence dashboard. Leads that are mid-sequence will stay where they are until you resume.

Why a sequence might run unexpectedly

Sequences can be activated through Stan's chat interface, for example, if you say "start the outreach" or confirm a suggestion Stan makes, this can trigger sending. If you're not ready, always review the sequence status before confirming actions in the chat.

💡 Tip: Keep sequences paused while you're still testing copy or lead filters. Activate them only when you're ready to go live.
