📬 How to Connect an IMAP Email Inbox to Eva (Yes, Any Provider!)

Written by Ulric Musset

🔐 Why Connect Your Inbox?

For Eva to manage your emails, she needs direct access via your email provider. Once connected, she’ll start handling tasks like:

  • Inbox cleanup

  • Drafting and replying to messages

  • Highlighting urgent emails

  • Auto-tagging and categorizing conversations

And yes, all without you lifting a finger.

✅ How to Connect Your IMAP Inbox (Step-by-Step)

1. Open Eva and Go to Email Settings
Click into your dashboard and find the Email Settings section. You’ll see a prompt that says:

“I'm almost ready to manage your inbox.”

2. Choose “IMAP”
Click the IMAP tab — this is for custom setups and any non-Google/Outlook email provider.

3. Click "Connect an Account"
You’ll be shown a list of popular providers (e.g., AOL, Gmail, iCloud). Scroll down and select IMAP if you’re using a provider that’s not listed.

4. Enter Your Email Credentials
You’ll need:

  • IMAP server address (e.g., imap.yourprovider.com)

  • Port number (usually 993 for secure connections)

  • Your full email address

  • Password or app-specific password (for added security)

💡 Tip: You can usually find your IMAP server and port in your email provider’s help center.

5. You’re In!
Once connected, Eva will get to work — organizing your inbox, summarizing threads, and helping you stay on top of everything with zero stress.
