How Does Rachel's Call Transfer Work? (Summarize vs. Transfer Immediately)

Rachel handles your incoming calls and can transfer them to you when the right conditions are met. But there's an important choice to make: how she transfers them.

The two transfer modes

Summarize in Private

Before transferring, Rachel will privately brief you on the call, who's calling and what it's about, and then connect you. You don't have to make a decision or respond; she'll summarize and then transfer automatically.

What to know:

  • The call stays within our platform's infrastructure, which has a 10 minute duration limit

  • Great for when you want context before jumping into a conversation

Transfer Immediately

As soon as the transfer conditions are met, Rachel connects the call directly to your number, no summary, no delay.

What to know:

  • The call transfers to your own phone service, so the duration limit is whatever your carrier allows (typically unlimited)

  • Great for time-sensitive calls or when you don't need the briefing

How to filter which calls get transferred

You don't have to transfer every call. Use General Instructions to tell Rachel which types of calls should be transferred to you and which she should handle on her own.

Examples:

  • "Only transfer calls from new potential clients, not existing customers"

  • "Only transfer calls that come in during business hours (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm)"

  • "Transfer only if the caller mentions they want to discuss a partnership"

What about multiple lines?

If you need Rachel to have more than one phone line, each line requires its own workspace, but if you want her to have many options to transfer calls to, just select the multiple transfer option. Each Rachel can be configured with its own transfer settings, instructions, and conditions independently.
