Eva's Document Generation: Best Practices & How to Request Changes

Eva can generate professional documents (PDFs, Word docs, PowerPoints, and HTML files) directly from your chat. Knowing how it works will help you get the most out of it. Here's everything you need to know.

Understanding the Daily Limit

Eva can generate up to 5 documents per day. This includes all formats (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, and HTML) and applies to both new documents and revised versions.

Each new document generation costs 1 hour from your monthly plan. Corrections and revisions to an existing document don't cost extra hours; they just use one of your 5 daily slots.

How to Request Corrections the Right Way

When you need to make changes to a document Eva already generated, how you phrase your request matters. Here's how to make sure Eva treats it as a revision:

  • Be explicit. Use phrases like "this is a correction" or "here's an edit to the existing doc."

  • Batch your changes. Think through all the edits you need and send them in a single message. Every revision uses a daily slot, so fewer rounds = fewer slots used.

  • Create a Document Modification Request template. Instead of describing changes conversationally, list them all at once in a structured format:

Document name

e.g. Q3 Sales Proposal

Format

PDF / DOCX / PPTX / HTML

Change 1

Section / what to change / new content

Change 2

Section / what to change / new content

Change 3

Add more rows as needed

Notes

Any additional context for Eva

Pro tip: The more specific your change descriptions, the better Eva's output. Instead of "fix the intro," try "Rewrite the intro to be more formal and under 3 sentences."

How to Get the Most Out of Your Daily Slots

Follow this workflow to avoid wasting generations on documents that aren't ready yet:

  1. Plan in chat first. Discuss format, wording, tone, structure, and design with Eva before generating anything. This is completely free and doesn't count toward your limit.

  2. Hold the generation. Use phrases like "Let's draft this in chat first, don't generate yet" or "I'll tell you when to make the doc" to keep Eva from generating before you're ready.

  3. Generate when ready. Once you're happy with the content and structure, give Eva the green light.

  4. Batch corrections. Collect all edits and send them in one go using the template above.

💡 Chatting, drafting, and planning with Eva is always free — no limits, no hour costs. Use that space generously before committing to a generation.
