How to Create a Task for Your AI Employees (and Get Better Results Every Time)

Tasks are one of the most powerful ways to put your AI Team to work. Unlike a quick chat message, a task gives your agent a scheduled action with a specific recurrence, so they know exactly what to do, and when to do it, without you having to remind them.

What is a task?

A task is a recurring or one time action you assign to an employee, set to happen at a specific date and time. Think of it like adding something to your agent's calendar with full context attached.

Where do I create a task?

You can create tasks in two ways:

Option 1: The Task section of your dashboard

  1. Go to the Tasks section from your left menu

  2. Click Create Task

  3. Fill in the form: agent, action, date, time, and recurrence

  4. Hit save...done!

You can also view all your active tasks and completed tasks from this same section.

Option 2: Chat directly with your agent

You can ask your agent to create a task for themselves during a conversation. This is great when you're already in the middle of working with them and want to set something up on the fly.

The Task Success Formula

Getting the most out of tasks comes down to how clearly you set them up. Here's a formula that works every time:

[Agent name], please create a task for yourself. [Recurrence: e.g., Next Monday / Every Monday] at [Specific time] I want you to [Specific action] + [Details]. This is for [Goal].

Example:

Stan, please create a task for yourself. Every Monday at 9:00 AM I want you to send a follow-up email to leads who haven't responded in 5 days. This is for keeping my pipeline active.

The more specific you are, especially around timing, the action itself, and the goal behind it, the better your agent will perform.

Tip: Tasks work best for recurring actions. For one-time things you need done today, a quick chat message is usually enough.
